STORY TIME

Every project is a collection of decisions.

Some decisions cost $350.

Some cost $42,000.

Some save money today and create costs later.

And sometimes two completely different decisions can both be right.

Story Time is about those decisions.

These are stories about the moments in a project when an owner, developer, contractor or design team has to decide what to do next.

Sometimes the question is technical.
Sometimes it's financial.
Sometimes it's operational.

But the answer shouldn't begin with What is cheapest? or What would I normally do?

It should begin with:

What are we trying to accomplish?

Story Time explores individual project decisions—what the options were, what they cost, what they affected, and why one decision made sense for that particular project.

There won't always be a universally right answer.

That's the point.

Architecture isn't simply about drawing buildings. It's about understanding the consequences of the decisions represented by those drawings.

Every line on paper represents a decision.

And every decision should serve the purpose.
